For the about a week I have been getting an “ORA-27054: NFS file system not mounted with correct options” error when running an RMAN backup to a NFS mount point. The system administrator has not been successful in identifying the cause as it shows that the correct mount point options are being used.

RMAN-00569: ====== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ====

ORA-27054: NFS file system where the file is created or resides is not mounted with correct options
Metalink Doc ID 1518979.1 sets the event 10298, by-passing this check and allows writing to the mount point. Obviously we don’t want to do that unless it cannot be avoided. I myself am not in favor of avoiding this check but am using this work around temporary. Posting this just in-case someone needs to do the same temporarily while trying to identify the root cause.
sqlplus / as sysdba
alter system set events '10298 trace name context forever, level 32';
Metalink Doc ID 359515.1 shows the correct mount options for the Oracle software, datafiles, archivelogs, voting disk and the OCR files. A caveat when using incorrect mount point options is slow performance when writing to the disk.
