The first highlight is support for new versions of operating systems from Apple, Microsoft and Linux distributions. Virtualbox 4.3 now supports the latest version of Mac i.e. Mavericks and also Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS, not to mention the numerous new distributions of Linux. For operating systems like Windows 8.1 which are hybrid and are made for both tablets and Laptops, the Virtualbox softawre now supports Multitouch functionality as well. You can select the Multitouch input option for any of these operating systems and it will work in the guest operating.
With this release you can now also record videos inside the guest operating systems. This will be a great help if you want to record screencasts using your guest host. These movies are created in standard WebM format which is playable on many common video players. You can even play it inside the Chrome browser. Guests also now can use the webcam, making that option available for Video calling or Hangouts.
The other major improvement is the Networking area. IPv6 is now fully supported with all the networking types and IPv6 addresses can be used to connect to the guest from the host or the Network. There is also a new version of the Network Translation Layer (NAT) adapter which is by far the most commonly used adapter. This new version allows your guest to not only connect to the internet but also to the internal network. Previously NAT only allowed connection to the internet.
You can download Virtualbox 4.3 from here. Also make sure that you have downloaded and installed the new Extension Pack for Virtualbox 4.3. There is a link to download them at the end of the same page. The installation look and feel remains the same.
